If the model and serial numbers match, then check the cooking guide label on the top left of the door frame (when door is open). If there is a black Samsung logo sticker attached on the bottom right side of the label, then the microwave oven is not included in this recall as it has already been modified.
Hazard identified
If the microwave oven is plugged into an ungrounded outlet, and an installation bolt comes into contact with an electrical component inside the unit, there is potential for a shock hazard.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these recalled microwave ovens.
Number sold
Approximately 1,650 units of the recalled product were available in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were distributed between April 2009 and July 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Malaysia.
