Product description
This recall involves certain Frigidaire® and Electrolux Icon® smoothtop cooktops and slide-in electric ranges with rotary knobs and digital displays, with the following model and serial numbers.
The model and serial numbers for the slide-in ranges can be found inside the oven door on the left side of the unit, and for smoothtop cooktops can be found on the underside of the cooktop.

Hazard identified
Liquids can pool under the control knobs and cause a surface heating element to turn on unexpectedly, heat to temperatures other than expected, and then not turn off; these situations can pose a risk of fire and burn hazards to consumers.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 28,000 of the recalled ranges were sold at various retailers across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2005 to August 2010.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ranges and unplug them from the electrical outlet or power off the cooktops at the circuit breaker. Consumers are asked to contact the company for information on how to obtain a free repair kit.
