Ganz Grumpy Cat laying, sitting and key clip plush toys
This recall involves two batches of plush Grumpy Cat toys by Ganz. The items are plush multi-tone Grumpy Cat toys in brown, white and light grey. The items have blue crystal eyes with the eye lids half closed, a down-turned mouth and white coated whiskers.

The recalled toys have batch numbers 86754 and 224861, which are printed on the sewn-in label. Only products with this batch number are included in the recall.
The stuffed animal's eyes can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. Ganz has received 6 reports of the eyes detaching in the United States from retailers. No injuries have been reported in the United States.

Approximately 1,724 of the recalled toys have been sold in Canada.

The recalled toys were sold from November 2013 to January 2014.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately examine the sewn-in label on their Grumpy Cat plush toys for the batch number. If consumers have a recalled product, they are advised to take the toy away from children and contact Ganz for further information on obtaining a replacement item.
