Hazard identified

It has been identified that the kits contain a substance in a quantity which exceeds that allowed under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and its Regulations. Inclusion of prohibited quantities of substances and a lack of required labelling can both lead to serious adverse health effects.

Neither Health Canada nor POOF-Slinky Inc. have received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximate 19,993 of the recalled kits were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled science education kits were sold from January 2013 to February 2014.

Place of origin

Manufactured in United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately take the recalled kits away from children and return it to the store where purchased for a refund.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
