Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Leatherman Tool Group, Inc.
Leatherman Leap Multi-purpose Tool
This recall involves the Leatherman Leap multi-tool available in green, blue and red. The words "Leatherman LeapTM" can be seen on the outer casing.
When the optional blade is at its open position, the lock mechanism can inadvertently release the blade, posing a laceration hazard.
Neither Health Canada, the US CPSC, nor Leatherman Tool Group Inc. has received any reports of consumer incidents or injury.
Approximately 60 units were sold in Canada and approximately 8,000 units were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from August 2014 to September 2014.
Place of origin
Manufactured in the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using the tool and contact Leatherman Tool Group Inc. for a replacement.
