Product description

McGordon's Boy's Printed Fleece Top with zip and hood, style KLB-1555. The drawstring is found around the hood of the garment.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's evaluation program has determined that drawstrings on children's upper outerwear can become caught on playground equipment, fences or other objects and result in strangulation, or in the case of a vehicle, the child being dragged.

Neither Stocklots Distribution nor Health Canada has received reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 360 Boy's fleece hooded sweatshirt with hood drawstring were sold.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from June 23, 2014 to August 25, 2014.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Philippines.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the hood to eliminate the hazard.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
