A quick release lever on the bicycle’s front wheel hub, when improperly adjusted or left open, can come into contact with the front disc brake assembly and cause the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle, posing a fall hazard.
Neither Health Canada nor Mountain Equipment Co-op has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these front disc brakes with quick release levers in Canada.
Approximately 550 recalled bicycles were sold at MEC locations.
