Affected products

Evercraft Jack Stand, model number 776-2000

Product description

This recall involves the Evercraft Jack Stand with model number 776-2000. The potentially defective jack stands have serial numbers ranging from D1506007105 through D151002097 and from D1511020977 through D1601003552. The serial numbers can be found on the underside of the leg/base of the jack stand.

Hazard identified

The seams could physically separate causing the jack stand to collapse, potentially resulting in the vehicle falling on a person working underneath it.

Neither Health Canada nor International Specialty Services, Inc. has received any consumer reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 548 units were sold in Canada.  Only some of these are defective.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold in Canada from July 1, 2015 to March 4, 2016 at NAPA-affiliated retailers.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled jack stands and contact the NAPA store from which you purchased your product to arrange for a full refund.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
