Product description
This recall involves 2003 through 2016 models of Mikado, Oryx, Miele and Rocky Mountain brand of bicycles equipped with front disc brakes and a quick release lever on the front wheel hub. Bicycles are included in this recall if the clearance between the quick release lever, in its most open position, and the front disc brake rotor is less than 6 mm (which is the equivalent of the thickness of a standard #2 pencil).
Bicycles that do not have front disc brakes are not included in this recall.

Hazard identified
A quick release lever on the bicycle’s front wheel hub, when improperly adjusted or left open, can come into contact with the front disc brake assembly and cause the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle, posing a fall hazard.
Neither Health Canada nor Procycle has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these bicycles in Canada.

Approximately 63,195 units were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from May 2002 to December 2015.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the bicycles and contact an authorized dealer for a free installation of a new quick release lever on the front wheel.
