Hazard identified

The recalled products do not have proper hazard labelling required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA).

The products do not have the symbols and warnings that are required to be placed on the containers of consumer chemical products. The lack of the required warnings could lead to improper use of the product and present a flammability hazard leading to serious injury or fire.

Materials used with the products, such as rags, may spontaneously self-ignite, even with no source of ignition like a spark or flame.

Neither Health Canada nor Peintures MF Inc. has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

Number sold

Approximately 10,100 recalled stains were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from February 2015 to November 2016.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Peintures MF Inc. to obtain a compliant label. After applying the product, consumers should place rags in water or lay them flat to dry before disposing of them.
