Product description

This recall includes the owner's manual provided with certain Honda EU2000iT1 inverter type 1600W generators.

The owner's manual is a bilingual glue bound book. The generators are red and black with a handle. The words: "Honda" and the model number "EU2000i" are printed on the side of the generator.

Hazard identified

The owner's manual provided with certain EU2000iT1 generators may be missing pages 33 to 48 in the French section. There are important safety warnings and instructions for safe use within these missing pages.

As of December 7, 2016, the company has received one report of missing pages from the French section of an owner’s manual in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 4056 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from January 2014 to November 2016 by authorized Honda Power Equipment Dealers only.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Thailand.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately check the French section in the owner's manual that originally came with the generator for the missing pages.

If the manual is missing pages 33 to 48, please contact Honda Canada Customer Relations at 1(888) 946-6329, Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
