Haibike XDURO Race, Superrace and Urban Models electric bicycles

Product description

This recall involves Haibike XDURO Race, Superrace and Urban models of electric bicycles. The recalled bicycles have an aluminum frame, hydraulic disc brakes, and a lithium battery. "Haibike" logo is printed on the front bicycle fork. "HAERA" followed by a combination of at least three numbers and characters is stamped in the frame under the battery.

The following Haibike models are included in the recall:

Hazard identified

The Haibike-manufactured fork on the front wheel of the bicycles can rupture or break while using, posing a fall hazard to the rider.

As of March 7, 2017, Haibike has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 17 units of the affected products were sold in Canada, and approximately 250 units were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from January 2014 to February 2017 at authorized Haibike dealers.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Germany (2014, 2015 models) and Taiwan (2016 models).

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected model bicycles and contact Accell North America for a free repair.

For more information, consumers may contact Accell North America by telephone toll-free at 1-800-251-8435, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST or visit Haibike's website and click on "safety recalls" at the top of the page for more information.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.
