Flirt Charm Necklace- Pink Cat Charm with Pink Necklace
This recall involves Flirt brand’s Pink Cat Charm Necklace. The necklace has a pink metallic chain with a pink cat charm. UPC 697414154155, batch number 150104 and item number 550031-N3 can be found on the back of the product packaging.
Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled jewellery contains cadmium in excess of guidance levels proposed by Health Canada.
Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is prohibited to manufacture, import, advertise or sell any consumer product that is a danger to human health and safety, such as the presence of cadmium in jewellery.
Cadmium is highly toxic, especially to children. A range of serious health effects have been associated with exposure to cadmium, including anemia, vomiting, diarrhea, serious brain injury, convulsions, coma, as well as effects related to the liver, kidneys, heart and immune system. In extreme cases, there have been deaths.

As of April 26, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Approximately 3,504 units of the recalled necklaces were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from October 2015 to April 2017.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewellery away from children and dispose of the products.
