OTTAWA – Effective immediately, Health Canada is cancelling the voluntary recall notice for the Spring 2017 Ardene metallic Best Friend necklaces with UPC number 20051748.

This recall notice was originally posted on Canada.ca on May 5, 2017 after Health Canada testing found that the product contained lead in excess of allowable limits under the Children's Jewellery Regulations. Re-testing of the product by Health Canada has since determined that this product is compliant with the levels for lead set out in the Regulations.

Health Canada is reviewing the discrepancy with its test results.  Results for two other products determined to be non-compliant for lead in children’s jewellery as part of the same compliance project have been confirmed via other testing methods and recalls remain in effect (http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/hc-sc/2017/62768r-eng.php

No other products are affected. All other current recall notices of children’s jewellery remain in effect.
