Product description
This recall covers two products:
- "All-purpose" polyurethane foam for doors and windows under the Canac brand, sold in a 300 mL (340 g) pressurized container with UPC code 200712130914. Only the units that are missing the "toxic" hazard symbol are being recalled.
- "Professional" polyurethane foam for doors and windows under the Canac brand, sold in a 600 mL (680 g) pressurized container with UPC code 200802121013. Only the units that are missing the "toxic" hazard symbol are being recalled.
Products with labels displaying the "toxic" hazard symbol are not being recalled.
Hazard identified
The recalled products do not comply with the requirements of the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA), because they do not have the required warnings that must appear on labels.
The recalled products may be harmful if ingested or inhaled. The lack of the required warnings could lead to the inappropriate use of the product and pose a toxicity hazard likely to cause injury.
As of July 21, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries regarding the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 301,340 300 mL recalled units of foam were sold in Canada.
Approximately 272,333 600 mL recalled units of foam were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The products were sold from 2009 until July 21, 2017.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Belgium.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to their retailer to obtain a replacement product bearing the compliant label.
