Product description
This recall involves the Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner and the CIL Scrub-Free Deck Cleaner, both used on decks, siding, shakes, shingles and fences to clean stains caused by mildew, dirt algae and mould. The affected products are described in the below table:

Hazard identified
The caps on some of the deck cleaner containers do not provide a complete seal. Leaking product has been observed from some caps when the container is not maintained in an upright position and/or the cap does not offer sufficient resistance when opening the container impairing child-resistant characteristics. Improperly functioning packaging could result in unintentional exposure to these products and lead to serious illness, injury or death.
As of December 20, 2017, the company has received 2 reports of injuries in the United States, but has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 53,315 (1 gallon/3.78L) and 21, 417 (2.5 gallon/9.46 L) units of Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner have been distributed by PPG in Canada.
Approximately, 18,342 (1 gallon/3.78 L) and 15,444 (2.5 gallon/9.46 L) units of CIL Scrub-Free Deck Cleaner have been distributed by PPG in Canada.
Time period sold
Olympic Premium Deck Cleaner has been sold in Canada since 2015, and the CIL Scrub-Free Deck Cleaner since 2016.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately inspect their purchased product to see if there is a written code, such as “7125” that appears on the side of the cap. If any code appears, no further action is necessary.
If there is no code and the cap is blank, immediately store the product in an upright position and in a location not accessible by children. Call 1-800-387-2253 to request a new cap, which will be shipped to you and then follow the safe handling instructions as well as the recapping instructions.
