InSinkErator® recalls Single Outlet Sink Top Switch

Product description

This recall involves the InSinkErator Single Outlet Sink Top Switch. The product is identified by Model STS-SOSN, with UPC code 050375021353 and date codes 1610 through 1710. The product features a satin nickel button, a black 6 foot air tube, and a black power module with a cord. "Insinkerator" appears on the face of the black power module.

Hazard identified

Water can get into the power module, posing a potential fire hazard.

As of February 27, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.

Number sold

Approximately 29 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 1,000,000 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold in Canada from February 2017 to October 2017.
