Product description

This recall involves Makita brand hand-held line trimmer with model number ER2600L, UPC 0 88381 69668 5 and serial number ranges from 161200801 to 161200870.

Makita has repaired all products within the serial number range except for one unit identified by serial number 161200826.

The trimmer has a teal/black/silver power head with a 25.7cc gas engine, a curved shaft, and an aluminum teal color trimmer head attached. The overall length of the product is 164.5cm.

Hazard identified

The grommet holding the fuel line and sealing the opening in the fuel tank may become dislodged and allow fuel to leak from the tank, posing fire and burn hazards to the consumer.

As of March 7, 2018, the company has received no report of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 69 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold in Canada from June 2017 to September 2017.
