Product description

This recall involves the Venus Simply3 Disposable 4-count razors. The razors come in pink/white, yellow/white and purple/white and were sold in a pack of 4. Each razor has 3 blades and a pink lubricating strip. The affected products were sold at Walmart Canada, in store and online. The products can be identified by UPC 047400315358 and lot code 9003A17400. The UPC can be found at the back of the product's packaging and the lot code can be found printed in black ink on the right or left side of the product's plastic packaging.

Hazard identified

The blades in these razors can become misaligned during the shave and pose a higher risk of cuts during use.

As of June 11, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 1 report where a consumer received cuts while using the razor.

Number sold

Approximately 2,700 units of the affected lot were sold in Canada of which 15 units were estimated to be defective. Approximately 87,000 units of affected lots were sold in the United States, of which 500 units were estimated to be defective.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from February 2019 to May 2019.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled razors and contact Venus to receive a refund or a replacement, and a return envelope to send the affected product back to the company. 

For more information, consumers can visit the company's website or call the Venus Consumer Care team at 1-800-362-1258, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
