Recall Details |
On certain vehicles outfitted with special equipment options for police or government service, under heavy use conditions, water and/or de-icing fluid could enter the passenger-side under-hood cooling fan motor. Over time, this could lead to corrosion of the wiring inside the fan motor, which could cause an electrical short circuit and elevated temperatures within the motor. This would increase the risk of an underhood fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the affected fan motor and shroud, extend wiring and re-orient the fan motor to reduce the risk of corrosion. |
