Product description
This recall involves 3-70610 U-ground adaptors imported by Jessar Industries Inc. The adaptors are black in colour and have item number 8370610 on the package, and bear the model number LCU-01A.
Hazard identified
It has been determined that the identified product has not been evaluated by Underwriters’ Laboratories (UL) to ensure it meets the required electrical safety standards for Canada. As a result this product is not authorized to bear the cUL Mark.
Neither Health Canada nor Jessar Industries Inc. has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this adaptor.
Number sold
Approximately 1,220 units of the affected adaptors were sold at retailers across Canada, including: Dollar Max, Dollar Plus, Dollar du Nord, Ferronerie Mandeville, Escompte Lecompte, W. Beyant Shears, Jacques Laferté, Potvin & Bouchard, Highway Discount, La Roue du Temps, Ekono Magik, Plaza du dollar, Dollar General, Marche Taty, Dollar King, Dollar Dunant, Le blis du dollar, Dollar plus St-Elie, Dollar Extra, L'Explosion du dollar, Village des Magi-Prix, Dollar de la citiere, Super Mini-Prix, Varietes du Dollar, and Fantaisie du dollar.
Time period sold
The affected adaptors were sold from January 2010 to March 2013.
