Step2® Whisper Ride Touring WagonTM

Product description

This recall involves the Step2® Whisper Ride Touring WagonTM (Item number 832900). The two-seat wagon is approximately 64.8 centimetres wide and 104.8 centimetres long. The seats are blue and the wagon base is tan with a red canopy. The blue seats have a removable seat back that allows the wagon to also be used as a flat bed wagon. The Step2 logo appears on the canopy and on the side of the wagon base.

Hazard identified

The removable blue seat back can detach while in use, resulting in children falling out of the wagon, posing a fall hazard.

Step2 Company has received 29 incidents with nine reports of injuries in Canada.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these wagons.

Number sold

Approximately 5,700 of the recalled wagons have been sold at Sears Canada retail stores and Costco Canada.

Approximately 14,000 have been sold in the United States at Toys R US stores and at ToysRUs.com.

Time period sold

The recalled wagons were sold from February 2013 to July 2013 in Canada and the United States.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wagons and contact Step2 for instructions on receiving a repair kit.

Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission’s website.
