Educational Light Cube
This recall involves the Roylco Educational Light Cube with model number R59601 and UPC number 066960596014. It is a white cube measuring 40 cm wide by 40 cm deep and 40 cm high.
The cubes have a light source and a battery located in the base. A power source, remote control, and user guide are part of and shipped with the product. The cube is primarily used for creative learning involving light in the early childhood classroom.
The light cube's lithium polymer battery can overheat and catch fire, posing a fire hazard.
As of November 30, 2016, the company has received no reports of the light cube battery overheating or catching fire in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received three reports of the light cube battery overheating or catching fire, and no reports of injuries.
Approximately 444 units were sold through educational supply companies in Canada.

The recalled products were sold from September 2013 to October 2015.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled light cubes and contact Roylco Ltd. for instructions on returning the light cubes for a free replacement of the light source, which contains the battery.
