IMUSA Espresso Maker model number GAU-18200

Product description

This recall involves IMUSA Espresso Maker. The black espresso maker has model number GAU-18200 with product date code "201407" to "201411" printed on a rating label affixed to the bottom of the espresso maker. The UPC is 94046182004.

Hazard identified

The filler cap on the top of the unit can crack and pop off unexpectedly as a result of pressure buildup allowing steam to escape, posing a potential risk of burns to the user and bystander.

As of Dec 9, 2016, the retailer, Bed Bath & Beyond has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the Espresso Maker in Canada. In the United States, the company, IMUSA USA LLC, has received 43 incidents involving cap and steam escaping from the cap have been reported.There was only one report of minor burns.

Number sold

Approximately 60 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from December 19, 2013 to December 1, 2016.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled espresso makers and contact the following contact information for a free replacement filler cap.
