Affected products

Poco, Poco Plus and Poco Premium Child Carriers

Product description

This recall involves Poco, Poco Plus and Poco Premium child carriers.  The products can be identified by the production date code ("PO" or "Purchase Order" Number) which is stamped on a black label sewn in the interior of the large bottom pocket in the front of the carrier. The relevant production numbers for the carriers are S12SBPR1, S12SBPR1B, S12SBPR2, S12SBPR3, S12SBPR4, F12SBPR1, F12SBPR2, S13SB IPO, S13SBPR1, S13SBPR2, S13SBPR3, S13SBPR4, F13SBPR1, F13SBPR2, F13SBPR3, S14SBPR1, S14SBPR2, S14SBPR3, S14SBPR4 and S14SBPR5. The model name is printed on the fabric of the lower front panel of the carrier. A tag that is sewn into the carrier’s lower compartment also shows the model name and serial number (each pack has an individual serial number to allow tracking).

Hazard identified

The company has determined that a child seated in the carrier can slip through the leg openings, posing a potential fall hazard to children.

As of April 13, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received four reports of falls, including two reports of injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 5,732 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 82,000 units were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from February 2012 to December 2015 in Canada and the United States.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Vietnam.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled child carriers and contact Osprey Child Safety Products LLC for instructions on receiving a retrofit seat pad.
