Roller blind shades manufactured by Sun Glow Window Covering Products of Canada Ltd.

Product description

This recall involves roller blind shades custom manufactured by Sun Glow Window Covering Products of Canada Ltd. The roller blind shades being recalled have a stainless steel beaded chain with no tension device attached to the chain.  The products were custom made in different sizes, colours and materials.

The manufacturer’s name can be found on a label on the bottom rail of the blind.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the recalled blinds pose a strangulation hazard by having exposed looped operating chains.  Young children may pull looped chains around their neck, posing a risk of strangulation.

As of May 1, 2017, the company has not received any reports of incidents in Canada.

Approximately 1000 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

The products were sold between May 2014 and May 2017 at various dealers across Canada.
