Product description

This recall involves Crate and Barrel Dakota 71 inches (SKU 251987) and 51 inches (SKU 257250) wooden benches. The SKU numbers can be found on customer receipts.The benches have two legs and are each 18 inches high.

Hazard identified

The benches can tip-over, posing a risk of serious or fatal injuries.

As of December 13, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received seven reports of tip-over incidents, resulting in four injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 575 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 6,825 units were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold between September 2011 and November 2017 in Canada.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Poland.

Consumers should immediately stop using all affected products. Crate and Barrel will be notifying known consumers directly. Consumers may also contact Crate and Barrel to arrange for professional installation of the extension add-ons.
