Product description

This recall involves various Medline Remedy cosmetic products as outlined in the table below. The affected products are found in white packaging. The lot numbers can be found at the bottom of the bottle.

Hazard identified

The recalled products may be contaminated with the bacteria Burkolderia cepacia. Burkolderia cepacia can pose a risk of infections to consumers, especially those with weakened immune systems. Contamination of the bacteria has only been confirmed for the Remedy Essentials Cleanser No Rinse Foam that was includedin the previous recall.

As of May 30, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents or infections in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 44,000 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from August 2017 to May 2018.

Place of origin

Manufactured in the United States.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return the product to Medline Canada.

Please note that, in addition to the requirements of the Cosmetic Regulations, the Food and Drugs Act (FDA) prohibits the sale of cosmetics that are either made with hazardous substances, or under unsanitary conditions, to users in Canada.

Health Canada would like to remind Canadians to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of this product or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
