Product description

This recall involves the Cub Cadet RZT SX Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) Zero-Turn Riding Mower. The affected mower is a four wheel residential zero-turn riding mower with steering wheel control, and a 42-, 46- or 50-inch cutting deck.

The model numbers for the affected Cub Cadet RZT SX EFI Zero-Turn Riding Mowers sold in Canada are:

The model number can be found on the Model/Serial Number tag located under the seat plate.

Hazard identified

The fill neck on the top of the fuel tank assembly of the affected mowers can experience stress cracking. This condition can cause fuel to leak from the fill neck during refilling or for the fill neck to shear off from the top of the fuel tank, posing a fire hazard.

As of October 2, 2018, Cub Cadet LLC has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada or in the United States.

Number sold

Approximately 1,300 units of the affected products were distributed in Canada and approximately 4,900 units were distributed in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected product was sold from December 2017 to August 2018.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact the place of purchase to arrange for replacement of the fuel tank assembly.
