Affected products

Pois et Moi pacifier clips sold individually or with teething toys

Product description

This recall involves Pois et Moi brand pacifier clips, purchased between September 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. The pacifier clips consist of 12 silicone or natural wood beads on a nylon string with a pacifier or teething toy on one end and a clip on the other end, to be attached to the child's clothing. The silicone beads were available in various sizes and colours.

Only the products consisting of round, metal clips with the words "Pois et Moi" written across the entire surface are included in the recall. Pacifier clips with other types of clips are not included in the recall.

Hazard identified

While opening and closing, the metal clip can break, releasing small parts that may pose a choking hazard to young children.

As of November 30, 2018, Health Canada has received one incident report involving this product. Eight pacifier clips were returned to the company due to broken metal clips. No injuries have been reported.

Number sold

Approximately 500 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from September to December 2017.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Pois et Moi in order to receive a replacement pacifier clip or a different Pois et Moi product of equal or lesser value. Instructions are described on the company's website.
