Introduction

On January 4, 2019, CannTrust Inc., a license holder of cannabis for medical purposes located in Ontario, began a voluntary Type III recall for one lot of cannabis oil sold in 40 mL (37.6 g) bottles. The affected lot number is found below.

Reason

On January 4, 2019, CannTrust Inc. initiated a voluntary Type III recall for one lot of cannabis oil sold in 40 mL (37.6 g) bottles, due to a labelling error. The label displayed “1:1 Capsules” instead of “1:1 Drops”. The product, lot number and packaging date are correct on all bottles. However, some bottles might have the wrong SKU, variant name, and potency content due to this labelling error.

A Type III recall refers to a situation in which the use of, or exposure to, a product is not likely to cause any adverse health consequences.

To date, neither Health Canada nor CannTrust Inc. has received any adverse reaction reports or complaints related to the recalled lots.
