Affected products

Remedy Phytoplex Nourishing Skin Cream

Product description

This recall involves certain lots of Remedy Phytoplex Nourishing Skin Cream in 16 oz pump bottles as outlined in the table below. The affected products are found in white packaging and the lot numbers can be found at the bottom of the bottle.

Hazard identified

The affected products are being recalled due to the presence of certain species of mould, Penicillium chrysogenum and Penicillium flavigenum. The affected products are not likely to cause an adverse health consequence in healthy individuals, however, may pose a risk to people with weakened immune systems.

As of February 1, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or infections in Canada.

Number sold

An unknown number of the affected products with the above lot numbers were sold in Canada. Approximately 5,280 units of this product, including the affected lots, were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from July 2018 to January 2019.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return the product to Medline Canada.
