Product description

This recall involves Béaba Babycook NEO Midnight and Cloud models, a baby food making machine. This is an all-in-one steam/blend feature in one small appliance used to prepare raw fruits, veggies, and meats into fresh meal for babies. It measures about 9 inches wide and 9 inches high with a detachable glass bowl.

The affected product is identifiable by the reference numbers 912645 (Midnight) or 912646 (Cloud). All Béaba Babycook NEO units purchased prior to February 2019 will be affected.

Hazard identified

Under certain circumstances, the glass bowl of the Babycook NEO may spontaneously shatter, posing a laceration hazard to users and bystanders.

As of May 8, 2019, the company has received 18 reports of the glass bowl breaking in Canada with no reported injuries. In the United States, the company has received approximately 300 reports of the glass bowl breaking with 3 incidents of minor injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 650 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 5000 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from July 2018 to February 2019.

What you should do

Consumers should stop using the affected product and contact Beaba USA to obtain a free replacement part.

For more information, consumers may contact Beaba by visiting the firm's recall site or by email. If consumers have difficulties submitting a request for a replacement bowl online, they may contact Beaba Customer Service at 1-855-602-3222 Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm EST.
