Product description

This recall involves the Simond brand Rocky SCREWGATE Carabiner. The recalled snap hooks were available in blue (item number 1759997) and in yellow (item number 1760147).

The words "SIMOND ROCKY" appear on the side of the items.

Hazard identified

In rare cases, it was noticed that the carabiner's screwgate (black part) was assembled upside down, which can cause unpredictable unlocking when in use and the climber may fall.

As of July 26th, 2019, the company has received no report(s) of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 188 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

The affected products were sold from April 2018 to June 2019.
