Product description

This recall involves the Simond Toucan Light brand climbing and mountaineering belay system (item number 2575753). The aluminum body of the recalled product was available in blue. Operating diagrams are engraved on the belay system as well as information concerning rope compatibility. The words "Simond Toucan Light" can also be seen.

Hazard identified

When two climbers are belaying simultaneously from the belay stand and one climber applies tension on the rope, the second climber is blocked, which represents a risk of getting stuck during the activity.

As of July 26th, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 5 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.
