ASCO Solenoid Valves found in VIQUA Accessory Kits for UV Water Treatment Systems
This recall involves certain units of ASCO solenoid valves included in accessory kits sold by VIQUA for use in residential UV water treatment systems. The affected products can be identified by coils marked with ASCO part number 400127-xxx and date codes between 1A3 and 5A2 (13th week through 52nd week of 2018) or 0B1 through 0B8 (1st week through the 8th week of 2019). These numbers are located on a green component on the solenoid valve. Additionally, UPC codes can be found on the accessory kits sold by VIQUA and are listed in the table below.

The coils on the affected solenoid valves may have not been properly tested to verify the effectiveness of the electrical insulation system, posing a potential risk of electric shock.
As of September 25, 2019, the company has received no reports of consumer incidents or injuries in Canada or the United States.
Approximately 170 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 68 were sold in the United States.
