Product description

This recall involves the Mastercraft Construction Heater, 4800W. The Mastercraft Construction Heater is blue in colour.

The recalled products have item number 052-2604. The item number and certification file number can be found on the label affixed to the back of the heater.

Hazard identified

The recalled heaters can overheat, posing a burn and fire hazard.

As of November 8, Canadian Tire has received 9 reports of the product overheating, with 2 incidents of the product catching fire and damaging property in Canada. No injuries were reported.

Number sold

Approximately 10,000 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from 1997 to 2014.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled product and return it to the place of purchase for store credit or to obtain a replacement unit. Proof of purchase is not required.
