Product description

This recall involves Finch three-drawer dressers offered in 4 different colours. The model number is printed on the back of the dresser. The unit measures 71 cm (28 inches) in height, 70 cm (27.5 inches) in width and 41 cm (16 inches) in depth and weighs approximately 21 kg (47 pounds). The contemporary style dressers have three drawers with three brushed nickel finish metal handles. The dressers were sold alone or as part of a matching bedroom furniture set. Note that the other items in the bedroom sets have not been recalled.

Hazard identified

The recalled dressers may tip over if not securely anchored to the wall, posing a tip-over and entrapment hazard that can result in serious injury or death to children.

As of March 19, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 718 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from January, 2016 to May, 2019.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the dresser if not anchored to the wall. Consumers may contact Homestar to receive a free tip-over restraint kit and a one-time free in-home installation of the kit, to secure the dresser to the wall.
