Product description
This recall involves specialized-branded Sirrus and Sirrus X bicycles, model year 2019 and 2020. The name of the bike family (i.e., "Sirrus" or "Sirrus X") is written on the toptube of the bicycle whereas the model name (e.g., "3.0" or "Sport") is written on the seatstay.

Hazard identified
The cranks may not have been installed to factory specification. A rider may lose control if the non-drive side crank arm disengages during riding, posing fall and injury hazards.
As of August 21, 2020, the company has received 4 reports of incidents in Canada. Three (3) of those alleged minor injuries (e.g. road rash) and one (1) report alleged a hospital visit. In the United States, the company has received seven (7) reports with either minor injuries (e.g. road rash, bruising, cuts) or not enough information regarding the extent of the injuries and one (1) report potentially involving a torn biceps tendon.

The company reported that 3235 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and 36,276 were sold in the United States.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and return them to the nearest Authorized Specialized retailer. The retailer will re-install the cranks to factory specification at no cost.
