Product description

This recall involves only Salsa Cutthroat bicycles, framesets and forks in which the fork serial number contains the letter G. The Cutthroat fork serial number is visible when the fork is removed from the frame.

The following 2020 Salsa Cutthroat model names are affected by the recall:

  • GRX 810 Di2 Bike – 29", Carbon, White
  • GRX 810 1x Bike – 29", Carbon, Bright Yellow
  • GRX 600 Bike – 29", Carbon, Teal
  • Apex 1 Bike – 29", Carbon, Pink
  • Apex 1 Bike – 29", Carbon, Raw
  • Cutthroat Frameset
  • Carbon Deluxe V2 Aftermarket Fork (Matte and Gloss)

Hazard identified

In some instances, the fork can crack or break, posing a fall hazard to the user.

As of October 28, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received seven reports of cracked or fractured forks, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

The company reported that 114 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 600 were sold in the United States.

The affected products were sold from September 2019 to September 2020.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact the retailer where they purchased the bicycle, frameset or fork for an inspection and free replacement fork.
