This recall involves the Hampton Bay Mara 54-inch Ceiling Fans in Matte White and Matte Black.
Product model numbers codes are situated on a white sticker at the base of the fan.
The ceiling fan blades can detach during use, posing an injury hazard to consumers.
As of December 23, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received forty-seven (47) reports of the blade detaching from the fan, including two (2) reports of the fan blade hitting a consumer and four (4) reports of the blade causing property damage.
The company reported that 5091 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and 84,828 were sold in the United States.

The affected products were sold from May 2020 to October 2020.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the fan and contact King of Fans for instructions on how to inspect your ceiling fan for defects. If an issue is identified, King of Fans will offer a replacement or refund.
