Product description

This recall involves Draw-Tite and Reese Towpower brand trailer hitches only purchased during November 2019 to August 2020.

Some of the ball and pintle combination products affected by this recall include a date code, that is found on the mounting side of the base.

Hazard identified

An out-of-position pivot hole in the product base creates the potential for the pintle hook to release and the towed vehicle to separate, increasing the risk of a crash.

As of January 27, 2021, the company has received one report of a towed vehicle separating in Canada with vehicle damage to the towing vehicle, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

The company reported that 623 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from November 2019 to August 2020.
