Battat B. toys Light-Up Firefly Teether Glowy Chews – Firefly Frank

Product description

This recall involves a Battat B. toys glowing plastic infant toy teether in the shape of a blue, green and red smiling firefly character named Firefly Frank. The firefly teether is made of textured loops that light up when shaken and is identified by SKU number BX1653.

Hazard identified

The plastic wings can become detached from the body and pieces of the wings can break off, posing a potential choking hazard to young children.

As of March 25, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 14 reports from consumers that the wings had detached or pieces of the wing had broken off, including one report of a child choking on a broken piece of the wing, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

The company reported that 210 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and 61,188 were sold in the United States.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from September 2019 to March 2021.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately take the recalled Firefly Frank teether away from children and return the product to any Hudson's Bay store to receive a full refund, or contact Battat to return by mail for a full refund.
