Product description
This recall involves Toysmith Toy Science - Magnets Set. The magnet set consists of a set of 8 magnets, which are silver and red in colour. The product can be identified by UPC 085761073647, and Item number 7364. This recall is limited to the following production date codes which can be found on the back label (above the UPC) and on the back of the long magnet: 12/18/120, 04/19/120, 05/19/120, 06/19/120 & 07/19/120.
Hazard identified
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that the magnets do not meet the magnetic force requirements of the Toys Regulations and pose an ingestion hazard.
The results of swallowing small powerful magnets can be very serious and life-threatening. Swallowing incidents have often resulted in considerable damage to the gastrointestinal tissues and required emergency surgical treatment. For survivors, there can be long-term health consequences.
As of May 7, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries.
