Caldwell Rechargeable Battery compatible with Caldwell E-Max Pro BT Hearing Protection
This recall involves the Caldwell Rechargeable Battery (model number 1108859). The affected battery is compatible with the Caldwell E-Max Pro BT hearing protection earmuffs (model number 1099596), used for dampening sound while shooting firearms. All Caldwell E-Max Pro BT hearing protection units contain the affected batteries.
Only the battery is affected by the recall, not the hearing protection earmuffs.
The battery is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-Polymer battery measuring 3.175 centimeters (1.25 inches) x 3.75 centimeters (1.5 inches) x 1.25 centimeters (0.5 inches) and weighs 18.6 grams.
In affected units, a soldering issue could allow the housing of the battery to become loose, causing the wire to short and conduct heat. This could result in possible shorting, bulging and overheating of the battery, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
