- Issue: The rivet that attaches the ankle strap to the side of the sandal may detach posing a choking hazard.
- What to do: Consumers should immediately remove the sandals from use and return to Birkenstock USA for a full refund.

The rivet that attaches the ankle strap to the side of the sandal may detach posing a choking hazard.
As of July 26, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents and no reports of injuries.
Approximately 27 units of the affected product were sold to Canadians and approximately 15,200 are subject to recall in the United States.

The affected products were sold from March 2021 to May 2021.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it for a refund.
