Product description

This recall involves KidCo Angle Mount Wood Safeway gates model numbers G2300, G2301, G2302, G2303, G2400, G2401 and G2402 available in Oak, Cherry and Espresso color.  Affected UPC Codes: 786441023005, 786441023012, 786441023029, 786441023035, 786441024002, 786441024019, 786441024026.

Hazard identified

Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that these gates do not meet the Canadian safety requirements for gates.  Specifically the gate’s stop clip may become detached.  The stop clip is a small part and therefore poses a choking hazard to young children.

Neither Health Canada nor KidCo has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these gates in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 13,785 units of the recalled gates were sold in Canada at various retailers in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled gates were sold from January 2012 to September 2016.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.
